❗️ Important Covid19 announcement/ operation changes ❗️ All patrons please read: Stock Car Racing continues this Saturday night, as a Covid 19 Secure “Good to Go” business we are able to continue for now thankfully and fixtures are scheduled to go ahead as planned. BUT - we must not be complacent – as each meeting passes we need to be more Covid19 responsible, than ever before. Protect yourselves, protect others, protect racing being able to continue. After each Government update we work in partnership with our local licencing authorities to understand what we need to do in addition to existing policy. We therefore, following the announcement this week, need to introduce further measures in the raceway. - Our curfew is now 10pm and as this is law, there will be no exceptions to this. The Stadium will close at 10pm at the latest. - No bars will be in operation 26th September. We hope this is just a temporary measure due to licencing laws being changed. We will update as soon as we can agree operation logistics with local authorities. As we hope you understand this is a huge revenue loss and not a decision taken lightly. Catering and soft drinks will be served as normal. i.e. no alcohol will be served 26th September. The Premise Alcohol Licence is still valid and therefore no alcohol can be brought inside from outside the arena. - By law, we are now required to display the QR code compatible with the NHS Track and Trace App. You will see this displayed around the Arena; please use this if you have the App. This is in addition to the current Covid19 policies in place: Events are advance ticket only, limited capacity. Face coverings are mandatory at our events in all areas of the Stadium (unless exempt by Government guidance for age, health or disability). If exempt, please bring your Medical exemption card. Phoebe Wainman (211) was one lap away from her maiden F1 Stock Car victory last time at King’s Lynn, finishing second behind World Champion Tom Harris (1). Another second place for Phoebe last weekend at Skegness too, she is fine form and we’re sure it’s not going to be long before she makes history and gets her first F1 win. Will it be this Saturday? Today marks 65 years since the first Stock Car event at King’s Lynn – a special, limited production, commemorative metal pin badge has been produced to mark the occasion of racing at Saddlebow Road since 1955. 🏁 On this day 65 years ago 🏁 Stock Car racing came to King’s Lynn for the very first time – 11th September 1955 – the site of a Greyhound stadium and staging a handful of Speedway meetings prior to the arrival of four wheeled Motorsports. Fewer stadiums have undergone such a drastic transformation since the start than King’s Lynn, virtually un-recognisable today. Very little information or pictures exist from that first meeting, but Local Driver and former World Champion – Bob Reeve of Dereham took the Feature Final that day. The F1 Stock Cars race tomorrow in their 165th Official meeting at the track – will another local driver take the chequered in this Anniversary weekend?
