  1. After many years of great service to the sport, Mike Greenwood has decided to take a back seat next season, but the calendar he started many years ago with ASF of Holland will continue with Colin Casserley & James Bowles handling the UK side to make sure the Tradition Continues.

  2.

I wish they would fill some of the down time they have every year by giving the overseas time trials a few extra laps, seems daft to travel all the way from nz to be given a few laps practice and 2 hot laps. Even 3 sets of 3 hot laps would be better and let them get abit of rhythm.

They have a have half hour free practice session at 12.30 long before the time trials. Last time we had a WF at Ipswich you could not even run a car in the pits before 5pm so just occasionally things do improve.

Mind you lets be honest, you could give the overseas entry 2 days of practice and its still not going to turn them into credible challengers for the title.

Maybe, but it has happened in F2, they have World Champion, World of Shale champion, World Cup champion, and F2 Supercup champ! And more often than not they have more F1 & F2s racing at meetings in Holland over a weekend than we do.. The power base is shifting!!

And the fact we get drivers from NZ makes it a credible "world" title race, wish we could get the USA , South African and Canadian drivers back, would give the race even more kudos

  3. when it first opened the pits was behind the main grandstand, the track went right to a few feet in front of the main stand.. No greyhound track.. There was a staging area around turn 3 and 4 where heat races lined up, room for all cars from all heats to line up.. It closed for a while ( To F1s) when it re-opend a greyhound track was on the inside of the track, and the first meeting there was wire & post fence on inside of track as well as outside.. result.. Chaos!!!! It closed again (to f1s) for a while, when it re-opened a greyhound track was around the outside of the stock car track and the stock car oval was smaller.

At one point a half mile track was built , but I am not sure it was ever raced on, the remains on that are seen on turn 1 & 2

  4. Good to see a few Dutch over even though they have a meeting at Lelystad on Sunday, I notice Lelystad doing an incentive for lower graders for thee meeting, I hope that gets some support from the whites and yellow graders who may not always race there.

Looking a good weekend all round
