  10. New Zealand Superstock Champs to be Rerun The 2009/10 New Zealand Superstock Championship at Kihikihi Speedway will be completely re-run, with the host club declaring the original meeting as an abandoned event. Qualifying for the premier championship on the NZ Speedway calendar took place as scheduled on Saturday January 30, but the weather intervened and the finals night could not be held on the Sunday or Monday. The Kihikihi club has informed SNZ that they are unable to complete the remainder of the championship within 14 days, resulting in the abandonment of the meeting. In line with rule G1-1-35 and a longstanding SNZ policy that prescribes how to deal with scenarios such as this, a new entry form has been submitted by Kihikihi for a re-run of the event on February 27 and 28. Entry is now open to all Superstock competitors. Speedway NZ supports Kihikihi in its efforts to rerun the event, which has had the misfortune to take place in a season that has been very difficult due to the inconsistent weather. A third of the allocated titles held so far this season have been either postponed or abandoned, resulting in increased costs and reduced income for all sectors of the speedway community, from the competitors and tracks, through to spectators and SNZ itself. We hope that all those affected by the unfortunate set of circumstances put their disappointment behind them, and rally around the Kihikihi club to ensure the rerun of the event is a success.
