  1. I wasn't there last night, but I can't help feeling that the total money collected ''goes back in to the sport'' was often quoted. Allowing a well established driver from another sport to start on the front of the grid from where he took the winner's prize and, presumably, a fair wedge of the cash allocated to the leader on each lap sounds like it will not go back into Stock car racing. This is not sour grapes on my part, I'm just saying it does not seem to fit in the original idea of the fund. I will agree that the two mentioned drivers are new to our sport but I don't see any of them staying with us.

  2. The 30% who leave also do that at afternoon meetings, so it isn't due to the time , their opinion is that the meeting final is the end of what they came to see. A friend of ours always left straight after the final, and he is a long time supporter. Longer than most in fact, as his dad was a driver in the early 60s. He stays to the end now as he is ''crew'' to a current driver. So Jeremy is right to do it his way. Everyone has the right to call it a day whenever they feel the need to do so.

  3. Daniel S, I never said Tom should be excluded for missing just one meeting. I said they should give up their Shootout place if they are intending to miss some meetings in favour of someone who would do the majority. I know they were not the exact words I used, but as I pointed out one driver(I think it was 464) only did tarmac meetings. There was no way he could be top of shootout points doing that, and that is an example of the type of thing which should be outlawed as it just prevents other drivers from having a chance. I believe in this case it may have been 259, but not sure of that either.
