I am so bloomin' stoked for this now! 😁😁 I absolutely love Buxton, and to see it under the lights is going to be AWESOME! Really hope young Jake and Courtney make it through, not to mention FWJ of course! In the words of the great Michael Waltrip.....
Buggity! Buggity! Buggity! Let's go racin' boys! 😂🏁🏁😂

Result! 😁 So, so chuffed to see Phoebe qualified, and well done to young Charlie, too. Haven't actually seen him race as yet, but if he is anything like his dad, well, need I say more really? 😂😉
Really looking forward to the second semi at Buxton next week now. It is one of my favourite tracks, and every time I have been there the racing has been fantastic.
Brilliant service from the three amigos once again. You guys really are freaking awesome keeping us up to date with the results like you do, and I can't thank you enough. Respect. *fist bump*

Gawd so much of that I can relate to. I was a user of Michael's bulletin board. I logged on usung an early digital tv subscription called On Didgital which offered very limited Internet on your tv. Then I joined Opposite Lock and became a regular in the chatrioom. One user name I still remember was 'Owl' a.k.a Mandy of the Paul Harrison team. I was one of the first to join Stoxnet just before it became on line and have had a few usernames during my time, Steve C, Whitevanman & Redvanman. 'Whitevanman' became quite 'famous' around the tracks and with that moniker I met lots of people. The Internet BB's and forums enabled me to get to meet people within this sport as pre Internet I used to know no one and was 'alone' at the meetings previously.
The www of stock car racing has helped me get lots of friends within the sport. It got me a go in an F1 stock car (practice session). It's helped me get to know some of the drivers. It got me very deep into the f2 fraternity for a few years in the mid 00's mechanicing for a few drivers and attending F2 doo's. The internet enabled me to approach Russell Cooper 415 in late 2007 and over the winter an offer of joining the 415 team from 2008 (proudly being a member of the 415 team when Russ reached hus highest grade to date as Blue top) to 2010 and a come back a few times in 2013/14. Also sharing myself with 74 Unsworth team and John Weldon 235.
Social media had also played a major part as through Twitter I've become a Team Gilbank 21/20 member from 2014 onwards (known Mark's sister Marie from the Opposite Lock chat room & forum) and started helping with the car/s in 2016 as predominantly the man with the watering can.
Admittedly it's not been all good I've had friends come and go and have a few haters but their loss. I'm happy with Team Gilbank and I can see the rest of my stock car time will be with them.
I believe you and I both used the chatroom on what would later become the F1stockcars website, SC? I remember having many conversations with Owl, Hil, Icelady, Lyndsey, Big N, and many others. Used to sit there for hours having frying pan battles with Hil, and I clearly remember one time I was on there when that minor earthquake struck, I cursed and got told off by Owl. Good times.

Thank you both for exceptional service once again, keeping those of us unable to attend informed. And as a side note, get in there, Mal Brown!! 😃 Always love watching him race, so to see he got a win is fantastic!

After seeing some of the videos from King's Lynn on Twitter, and looking at the updated points table, I am actually now super keen to go! The fact that 59 cars are booked in is simply a bonus for me! And, with any luck, Stu and Tom will be so busy fighting one another that they will leave Frankie to do his thing, score some more good points and reclaim the silver roof! 😁😁 Where there's a will, there's a Wainman! 😂 😂

I agree with all the other nice comments, Ricky. You're doing a grand job keeping us updated, and I really appreciate it. 👍 Especially when I read that the top two in the points are Frankie and Danny! 😁 Woot! Woot! Go Team Wainman! 😁

48 cars, including Phoebe Wainman? Wow! I was expecting maybe 25 of we were lucky! I'll take 48 any day of the week, though! Assuming we do go, that will also be my first time seeing miss Wainman in an F1, so I have just three words.....BRING. IT. ON!!

How many cars do you need to take a meeting from a 2/3rds fromat to a full three heats? You would think after all these years I would know this by now!
A fair few - you'd got to two full heats first, before you got to 3.
The actual numbers vary according to the size of the track and the whims of the officials on the day, but the race formats (in order of number of cars) are:
All-in (2 heats, all cars go in all races)
Two-thirds (3 heats, each car goes in 2 of them - hence there's two-thirds of the total cars in each heat)
Two Heats (2 heats, each car goes in one of them, plus a Consolation)
Three Heats (same as Two Heats but with Three Heats)
This is for 'normal' meetings. Special meetings, like certain championships, have their own format.
Cheers, Carl. That clears it up for me, and I know that certain meeting have their own format, like the British, say. Whatever happens, I can't see it being a full three heats. No way are you going to get another ten drivers to book in now.
But, hopefully, the racing will be good, and it will spark the fire in my belly again. Lately I've found my enthusiasm waning a lot. I hope that Saturday gives me the kick up the butt I need!

Still not used to seeing 501 back on the bookig list lol. I remember seeing young George arrive at Hendo, and when I saw 501, I instantly thought of Chris Elwell, and got super excited, because I have heard a lot of storeis about Mr. Chris and his antics on-track, but never got to see them myself unfortunately. Either way, it's good to see an Elwell on track again, and I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who can tell me more stories! Seeing a lot of names I don't recognise too, and I guess that's a good thing, as it means we have new blood coming in. I just hope that the booking list keeps on growing!

David , don't you know you're not allowed opinions on here ?
Oooosh! :chortle:

Oh well, in that case I take it all back! I didn't know that to tell you the truth, as it's been such a long time since I've been to either a Startrax promoted meeting or Belle Vue unfortunately.
NUTS! It didn't include my quote! Oh well lol

I've heard on the grapevine that TH#84 prefers cable and post perimeters and is waiting to serve it up on Bank Holiday Monday at Belle Vue instead
That's all well and good, but we all know that a) stock car drivers have long memories and once he is at the front, he will have a metaphorical target on his back bumper......

Well in that case a massive thanks not only to yourself and the other two amigos, Jane, but thank you to the family also. You guys all rock, and your services are especially important to people such as myself who refuse to expose themselves to the toxicity (tuuune!) of Facebook, so thank you all. Blessed be.
