  1. to be honest as stock car fan I woudnt be any were else tonite than cov, 60 so cars likes 390 515 150 318 55 ,etc, could never go watch f2s saloons ,miss f1 meeting esp cov, ,im f1 fan who pay 19quid ,not bothered about support formula never watch ,apart from mini stox, , ,each to there own, booking list couldn't give a dam, going any way regardless who goes who doesn't,

So what you are basically saying is that you are an F1 fan not a stock car fan then.
  2. When I go to a gig, I pay my money to watch the headline band, if the support is good that is a bonus, if I don't like the support it won't stop me going.

But if the headline act failed to deliver on the night, wouldn't you feel a little less disappointed if you had enjoyed the support act as well ?

As a stock car fan and not just an F1 fan, I don't always consider the F1s to be the headline act and that has definitely proven to be the case on several occasions this year. I will happily travel to watch F1, F2, Saloons, and Ministox. Therefore, tonight I have the option of watching 1 of those at Coventry or 2 of those at Kings Lynn. As I said in my previous post, no disrespect to Coventry, but as a stock car fan Kings Lynn is offering me more tonight.

  3. Daniel, I think what he is trying to say is that if the support formulas don't appeal to you then you are paying £19 for 6 races at Coventry which is not really value for money. The track is too big for 1300 saloons and the unlimited bangers have been very poor at this meeting for several years.

Like myself, chunder is a stock car fan and not just an F1 fan. I look at the fixtures for all formulas and decide which will give me the most vfm and tonight I consider Kings Lynn to be the better option - £4 cheaper to watch 2 good stock car formulas plus 2 banger classes that will be getting stuck in and not just rodding around.

No disrespect to Coventry but tonight's meeting just doesn't appeal to me.

  4. Is this person related or something to do with 175 Glyn Pursey, just he was from Bromham, known as the Bromham Bomber and it being 175 as well ??

Maybe related to Pursey's mechanic Ian 'Jake' Bell who used to borrow Pursey's car when he went on holiday and raced as 475 ?

  5. As of Friday night F1 bookings are 34 and over 40 BriSCA F2's - to spare you 5 car races ONLY Junior Heritage cars are racing and an F2 GN has been added replacing the Senior H/C

Can we quote you on this one Steve ?

Once again the F2s are treated as second class citizens by Startrax, despite (as usual)having the highest turnout of cars out of all formulas at the meeting.

Drivers having travelled in excess of 3 hours get 2 races for their troubles while the spectators have to endure a banger race with a single figure turnout.

It won't be long before the F2 drivers stop supporting Startrax completely if it carries on like this.

  6. Does anyone know why you can only access the pits if you pay on the pit gate and not the turnstiles please???

    Cheers

Because officially, the general public are not allowed in the pits and the security are there to ensure that they don't get in to uphold the rules of the safety certificate.

By paying at the pit gate it makes it look like you are with a race team and bypasses the system.

  7. In the interests of fair competition, I would just like to point out that Competition Car Insurance is also run by a motorsports enthusiast although not necessarily an oval racer.

Richard Egger has been a regular rally competitor for over 20 years to my knowledge and has helped many people over the years who struggled to get insurance for rally cars, support vehicles, etc.

He is now a regular in the Historic Rallies in his Mk1 Escort.

I don't know whether he has much involvement in oval racing, but his company is signed up as an F2 partner for 2007.
