  1. St Maarten is a dirt track BT, I have been there, but a very long time ago and back then it was simply dirt

I do imagine they do a lot of work here, but it is proof really that you do not need fancy shale!

It's an awesome place, as long as you stay out of the ditches!!

  2. Cmon guys, is there any real need for such an antagonistic reply?

Dust is a problem for fans, drivers, promoters and residents. And for some reason in the last few weks it has been a big issue?

Is it weather? Is it the shale? Not sure. But whatever you say it influences a lot of people.

I was speaking to a few Mini parents last night and their drivers were saying the dust was real bad and that is in a relatively easy to drive, slower car. So it is a relevant point, maybe not well pointed out!

  3. To those who do results, my intention was just to highlight the issue to those that run the site so that they could put the information in the right thread. Knowing it would be deleted and the Sunday thread created.

Forgive me if any offence was caused, that was not my intention.

And thanks to those sending, copying, posting etc.

  4. If I didnt enjoy it I would not have done 3 venues in a week recently.

These days I simply choose quality over quantity I am afraid. And some venues offer a better deal frankly when compared to others.

And anyway lets face it, they have another bank holiday weekend, will get a bumper crowd anyway, so hardly going to suffer.

    Each to their own.

  5. Am sorry to say that in recent years support formula mean a lot more to me in attending some meetings than they used to. Which is one reason I havent attended Coventry nearly as much as i used to, sprint cars and bangers are just not my cup if tea, and are few peoples if you read post event comments, but i understand why they are there.

As I have said many times before heats at most F1 meetings are the precursor to a usually good final and GN

So 19 quid for a possible 6 good races but a likely 2 and a bunch of paying unlimited drift rods doesnt cut it for me and one or two others when there alternatives with two good formulas that deliver week after week.

I know I am destroying the sport making these comments, but sadly my days of the first of every month veing Brandon are long gone, sorry 9/10 fans.

  6. JH, I was not insinuating anything on your part at all to be clear, that was not what I mean. What is clear is that you have spoken to ATL, and probably Premier I dont know.

Simply that two parties with a clear desire for one or another firm perhaps to supply.

As far as I know both are very good at what they do, so let us hope common sense prevails.

  7. So what we seem to have here is a common thing in stock cars and their supply chain. be it tyres, brakes, wheels etc.

Two sides, both a little different, both a offering similar product. One has clearly been to have a look, seen what is going on, I don't know if ATL have, I presume so?

I would suggest that the decisions are made on merit, not on what Beefy, Jeremy or anyone linked to the decision say, and that the decision has nothing whatsoever to do with those peoples clear relationship, links to either concern.

But would that be naieve of me? Shocks and coilovers ring any bells? Lol

  8. Cheers Dean, we have done the same thing on a few sites, but this is all very much appreciated.

I will pass this message on and see of he has dealt with these guys before!!

    Thanks again.

PM me of you have any more, though putting them up on here might help other people in future, so I dont mind?.

  9. Guys

Have a mate who runs a 1994 Ford Econoline 5.0. Gearbox is E40D. He used it to travel round Scandinavia for his honeymoon.

On the way up a very steep hill the tranmission gave out, the low ratio clutch has burnt. It is slipping, dropped its oil and needs an overhaul/replacement/repair. The van runs, but the box is dropping oil and running very hot and is therefore pretty unusable.

Obviously I am aware that Ford stuff is harder to find than Chevy/Mopar gear in Europe and the UK?

Does anyone have any ideas of places we might go for overhaul/rebuild? Also, we are likely to be towing with it, so are looking to upgrade to a heavy duty shift kit.

So far we have been quoted 1500 for a total rebuild and nearly 3 grand shipping from the US!!

I would appreciate any help here as we are going to be using this van for travel to some meetings and also as service for some bike racing we are planning in 2011.

We are based in Hertfordshire and appreciate that most people involved in stox are in the North!
