  1. Excellent post Carl, even if you were 'Nairning' for Britain :chortle: :rtfm:

One day I might get round to an 'adventures of a web poster/site owner' post. What tales I could tell.....

To think now, some nights Jane was updating news and results for F1's on Stoxnet and Allstox, as well as tooz, loons and V8's on Allstox. Think her record was five meetings in one night, shouting at her phone as text after text came in 'Hold on people, I cant keep up'

My first ever post on a bulletin board, was just after Michael started the first one. It was about the importance of scoreboards to new spectators as an aid to understanding what was going on. Oh well, never mind.

oh and for the vast majority of you...

    POSTING OFFENCES

Nairning...visiting the same post over and over again

  2. Ian G has hit nail on head. Should really rescind that GP letter requirement now.

Draconian spectator rules, with 381 unlimited bangers racing the same days, could drive some contact fans towards Suffolk instead.

There are too many other draws on folks money these days, to alienate cliental by making them feel financially maximised, rather than going home feeling valued.

It could be worse, Sunday of Ipswich Spedeweekend. £35 (on the gate) + £2 parking, for 10 races (plus a Ninja cart race) !!

  3. This thread -v- forum with Rees, Wood & Flan and its objective, show's that the effort by those 3, would in no way be representative of all promoters, and therefore ineffective. The interaction here shows the sport in a very negative way.

Had a few people saying I should throw my hat in the ring for the forum due to things I've done previously. One of the things I would have forwarded as an idea, was each promoter to appoint a local die hard fan of oval racing, active in social media, as a representative partner to keep fellow fans up to date, and work locally to promote their local track. Get the fans pulling for what they love, to positively forward the sport, and promote other like minded fans to do the same.

The overall negativity here and elsewhere, makes me doubt that this idea, and any initiative would work. Glad I kept my hat on my head.

  5. Your car do 40mpg ????

Your round trip to cov over 71 miles ??

well if it is, and you add the cost of your petrol to the new increased admission fee, then it will work out this week cheaper than going to July's coventry, due to the decrease in petrol costs !!

  7. Firstly, thanks to the stoxnet team for the support and use of their forum for the following post.

This time last year I paid 95.9p per litre when I topped up with fuel for my first meeting of the year, now it’s a whopping 107.9p. That’s a 12.5 % increase. Ouch.

Once again this year, the CAR SHARE scheme is available on allstox, to be found here.. http://allstoxforum.niceboard.com/car-share-f5/ . There are simple instructions to be followed at the top of the page. It does not matter what formula you follow, its there for YOU.

Why travel alone when you could share the cost’s, and possibly, as I did through the scheme last year, form friendships ?.

Why sulk the week before a meeting you can't get to, when you could at least put a request for a lift on the forum, and possibly make it to what could always be ‘the meeting of the year’ ?

We will be pushing this scheme, now that people will really be feeling the fuel cost’s bite. It cost nothing to try this, but the benefits could be huge, both short and long term, for yourselves, the people you help and meet, the promoters and therefor, the good of the sport itself. Even if you don’t want to be part of allstox site, that’s fine by us, but if everyone got into the habit of taking a quick look at the car share section in the week before a meeting, it could only possibly benefit everyone in the long run. It can though only be as good and successful as we think it can be, with the willingness of YOU the fans to see it work.

We will be forwarding a release to all BriSCA promotors urging them to support the scheme in their programme’s.

  8. Anglia shell available for all you polley wannabee's.

Been stripped for spares, but shell is solid and obviously had a fair bit of work done over the years. Ideal starting base for a heritage rod, retro rod, circuit racer, Harry Potter car for the kids, whatever.......

Will have to be collected from heathrow area.
