  1. Great interview best yet.    Genuine nice guy and for me one of the greats of the sport.    Very tactical in his racing, and at the right time can just move people without wrecking cars.   As he said his cars are not the super cars but they sure go well, hope races for many years to come as he is still very much a top driver.

  2. Betwetter spot on regarding budgets, the difference can be huge. It's also a frame of mind,if you've made a sacrifice to 're build an engine and it blows it would be devastating, but to some of the top guys it's neither here nor there. Some can put new tyres on every race on tarmac others make do. It's just the way it is at the moment.

  3. Got to agree Betwetter,as Steve says things have moved on but also people expect cover and clean toilets. Kings Lynn does seem to be going the right way and apart the the distance is the ideal. Difficult for Steve to throw huge sums at tracks he doesn't own so things can't be upgraded as much as we would all like. Accepting what we have is not the answer,we need if poss new tracks and a vision of the future.

  4. Got to agree, far too long a meeting and would it not be possible to put the f1 and f2 on first then move on to the bangers and caravans after that. I will travel to every Kings Lynn near 4 hours away but not Belle Vue 1 hour away. People want to get home and dragging things on and on doesn't help, the meeting loses its flow.

  5. Well I pay to see them all. What's a 'sellers meeting' BTW?

A sellers meeting is a meeting where all the cars for sale race, now i aint counted them but you would def get one of the biggest turnouts this season. I will turn up at the Vue to support Steve Rees,he at least enters the forum and makes an effort, just a shame more cars dont back him.

  6. 30 cars "Healthy" ? More like Pathetic . ! And as per usual these days the meeting will drag on and on for at least 4 hours, maybe 5 . Wake up all you promotors, speed the meetings up and try to finish them in 3 hrs especially at this time of year !

Credit to Steve for trying to push this meeting but Daves point is bang on, nobody pays to watch all these formula and in the end it just devalues the whole product, people leave cold and bored. Now if you want a big car turn out have a sellers meeting, you could run 3 heats !!!!! Steve pushes these meetings to the hilt and should be given some proper sat night solo meetings, thats if he can get the stadium. Been a tough 2009 lets hope 2010 has good car turn outs, how anyone can can say 30 cars is good is beyond me.
