  1. Regarding the support formulas, I'm sure some people turn up determined not to like them. They were both pretty good, lots of action in the supers, and plenty of skillful moves in the NHRs which were actually made much better to watch by the slippery conditions. Dave G's commentary went up at least two octaves in the super's final, so something must have got him going!

As for the ones, although there were no real memorable talking points, there was plenty of good action from whites to reds. Great tussles between 445 and 84, and good drives in particular from 48, 464, 555 (although all slightly undergraded perhaps). 101 gets my vote, very consistent driving.

Just to clarify something, I've raced both hot rods and F2's in the past so I'm certainly not adverse to them. They just didn't work for me on the night.

  2. !0k per show 200,000 viewers. That sounds like a bargain for a sponsor to me. The shows themselves have been superb (especially no.2).

Dougie how long have you got to resurrect it?

I think it's bargain too! As I've said elsewhere, leaving aside the TV exposure and brand association we'd be looking to build, Coventry put together a fantastic corporate package which was all included in that 10K per show!

But the bottom line is that if we miss the next Coventry meeting, I think we're pretty much sunk.

  3. Dougie, at the end of the day and even if you don't get this off the ground again you (and the others involved) have still managed to get 2 dedicated programmes on terestrial TV. I've been a fan since 1979 and this is the 1st time this has been achieved so well done and good luck with your attempts to get us on again.

    Mike

Thanks Mike. That means a lot. I'm still hopeful that we'll be able to continue but whatever happen, no one can say we didn't try.

  4. SORRY CHAPS but this is Business and both Coventry and Dougie hoped to gain financially from the TV. Somewhere your plan failed so sort a proper Business Plan out next time - TOUGH BUT TRUE !

That is indeed asolutely true and in every other instance we would never start a project without a proper plan in place which would obviously include funding for the entire thing.

However, in this instance for various reasons not least the the timescale involved, we had to take a decision to either go for it or to wait until next season and we decided it was worth the risk to start in 2007.

Sadly. it doesn't seem to have paid off.

  5. I didn't think you were Colin. Just wanted to make it clear for anyone who might not know the background.

One of the hopes was that we would build the show up on a season by season basis to the point where we were doing a weekly show covering all the Brisca tracks and maybe even other formula.

Sadly, that costs money and at the end of the day, it has to come from somewhere. Maybe one day it would have come from C5 or whoever was broadcasting it by then but in the meantime, we had to find it and we have a finite amount available to us.

  6. Agree with much of what you say Colin but on a point of order, no one has ever asked the fans to raise any sponsorship toward the series not would we.

As you say, they do enough already.

  7. I thought I had read somewhere that per programme it was 10k

That is correct. Relatively speaking, the total package we have available -which includes all kinds of things supplied by Coventry Stadium- is actually something of a bargain for £10k.

We just need to find the right relative!!!!!

  8. Dougie/Jeremy

Is there anything we, as fans can do in terms of messages on forums etc to demonstrate the level of support and interest in this programme?

Thanks for the thought but sadly, I think not. C5 are already aware of the support for the show and we are trying to get them to invest so it's simply a matter of keeping everything crossed and hoping that we can pull something together.

  9. Can only echo Wolfysmith's comments. At least it sounds like there is some hope for future programmes. With any luck we can look back on these first two programmes as pilots for a full series once financial backing has been found. Does this also mean that any Programme 2 repeats are no longer going to be shown?

Dougie - something should be dropping through your door in the next couple of days to cheer you up  :(

Hi Chris. No, the repeats will be shown as planned -I will pass on the dates and times as soon as I have them- and the showings on Raj TV will also continue.

    Looking forward to the parcel!

What a pity that this action has had to be taken when the 'product' was really looking good. I do hope that a major sponsor can be found soon so that we can once again see F1 Stock Car racing back on TV.

I'd like to give personal thanks to all involved in getting this project off the ground in the first place.

    Wolfysmith

    Thanks Wolfy.

As you can imagine, we're all gutted but we're certainly not giving up on this. We've come to far to do that!
