Thanks Dave. 👍 I’ll make sure I have a screen shot of the receipt just in case.

Hi Brian,
I have had a receipt direct from PayPal (which was sent to the email address that I have registered with PayPal).
I assume this is what we show at the turnstile on Saturday.

Definitely looks like Long Eaton Dave to me.
Long Eaton was what first came into my head when I saw the photo.

My copy of the 50 Years of BriSCA F2 book was delivered this morning too and was coincidentally number 50.
Running at over 500 pages, this must easily be the biggest Stock Car history book ever written.
I’m only up to 1964 so plenty of reading to go. Really looking forward to the rest of this huge book.

Just ordered my copy. Looking forward to it dropping through the letterbox. Is this the first book on the history of F2 Stock Cars?

I know Coventry and Northampton have run on the same day, but one was in the afternoon and the other in the evening so weren't technically "clashing" meetings.
I think King's Lynn / Swaffham and Skegness / Boston are closer. Same days but not at the same time.
The closest tracks to have run meetings the same day are Elburton Park and Plymouth on 30th March 1956.
That info prompted me to have a look in the "Anderson/Parker - Final Fact Book" as I thought Elburton and Plymouth would have been really close to each other.
In the Introduction, Nigel talks in one paragraph about one-off meetings and says "one such track is Elburton Park, Plymouth which staged the first meeting of the 1956 season [30th March] in the afternoon before everyone headed to Pennycross Stadium, Plymouth for the evening."
It doesn't seem, then, that it was a pure "clashing" meeting but just held on the same day as per Coventry/Northampton, King's Lynn/Swaffham, Skegness/Boston.
On the 30th March 1956, there were 5 meetings on the same day according to the Anderson/Parker book (Elburton, Plymouth, Sheffield, Staines and West Ham) which I guess could also be a record!
....and then Staines and West Ham jumped out at me. They can only be 25 miles or so apart if my locations are correct........unless one ran in the afternoon and one in the evening again.....

Saturday 6th October 1979
It is almost staggering to think it nowadays, but in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the sport was so big that there were enough drivers and fans to be able to run two meetings under 100 miles apart on a Saturday night. That said, there were only a few formulae to go and watch or compete in, compared to the 50+ that there are today. On home ground at Rochdale, 396 Doug Cronshaw placed 5th in his heat before winning the final and then coming through for fourth in the Grand National. Meanwhile, 391 Stu Smith did slightly better after by-passing his local track and travelling to Coventry, where he recorded a heat third, final win, and second in the GN.
This made me think...
I can remember times when Leicester and Crewe had "clashing" meeting that were about 70 miles apart as the crow flies and, living in the Midlands, I had to decide which one to go to.
Are there any tracks nearer to each other than Crewe and Leicester were that ran a clashing meeting? (What is the closest that two tracks have been to each other and run meetings at the same time?)
(I know Coventry and Northampton have run on the same day, but one was in the afternoon and the other in the evening so weren't technically "clashing" meetings.)

Are there any plans to re-schedule the Sheffield meeting so as there is still the full quota of 10 Shoot Out rounds?

I like the British Championship format now it often throws up a surprise grid
I have a feeling it may do just that this year.

I think that the imbalance between shale and tarmac fixtures for 2019 was always going to have an effect of some sort at some point in the season.
Genuine question here...
I believe that some drainage improvement works have been carried out over the winter. Is the tarmac surface still intact beneath the shale or has the tarmac surface been affected in anyway to install those drainage improvements?

Is the format that the F1s will be running to known?

Sad News - Tim Warwick
in Essential Information
Posted
As Ozzy says, I don’t normally comment on these sad occasions but I felt that I would in this instance. Tim was a stock car driver and also, it seems, a big fan of the sport. I would often see him spectating when not racing. When he was racing and leading, you felt the whole stadium was behind him willing him to go on to win. A true character. Tim will be missed.
