Before or maybe during the V8 final. There was a delay for sometime, with the paramedics at the pit gate. Was a fan or mechanic injured? Thanks

So bit confused. Says on startrax website format is
W&y ht 1
Then 2 further heats final national. So how are cars split for the other 2 hts. Surely if 40 cars it's too many for 2/3 and should be w&y as separate race at start (similar to how k.l do it ) then 2 hts consi final national.
Anyone know ?
Bri, presume that the w&y get split into the heats too!!

Just googled this and it is Elma Patterson. Sad news, Elma has been lap scoring week in week out for at least 36 yrs and involved since the 1960'swith her husband the late great Malcolm patterson. What dedication to a sport. Thanks ElmaREVISED FORMAT

when it first opened the pits was behind the main grandstand, the track went right to a few feet in front of the main stand.. No greyhound track.. There was a staging area around turn 3 and 4 where heat races lined up, room for all cars from all heats to line up.. It closed for a while ( To F1s) when it re-opend a greyhound track was on the inside of the track, and the first meeting there was wire & post fence on inside of track as well as outside.. result.. Chaos!!!! It closed again (to f1s) for a while, when it re-opened a greyhound track was around the outside of the stock car track and the stock car oval was smaller.
At one point a half mile track was built , but I am not sure it was ever raced on, the remains on that are seen on turn 1 & 2
Great insight. I wondered about turns 1&2 it looked to me as if the track had been bigger. Now l know. Cheers Colin
Is that the bar at the end of the straight. It looks like the same one under the covered terracing now.

Bought it yesterday. Only had time for a quick flick through it so far, but it looks good.
Like wise Carl. Looking forward to reading it. Only done about 15 pages, put his dad already sounds a bit of a 'character!!!!!

Correct dave. It has completely been stripped back to the chassis and rebuild. He had it out at cowdy on Sunday for his 1st shot. I was at Sheffield but was told he got out the car didn't say anything and kicked a tyre. So we can take it he was estactic with how it went!!! Lol
The chassis was sent away to have the paint removed and resprayed. The process they use is to fire plastic ball bearings out a gun and it chips the paint off. Ingenious or what. I had never heard of that before. It was seemingly a AUTOMATICALLY DELETED WORD to do!! Lol
Notice he is not on Birmingham list. His plan is for both him and Marc F2 to race both meetings. Can only presume they couldn't understand him when he phoned to book!!!

Lost a fair bit of respect for DJ#4 in the final - can only imagine it was retribution aimed at Team Davidson (not at Tom personally, as such) for the shootout last year when Speaky did something not hugely dissimilar to end Dan's chance of a silver roof. Still, the fact remains that it rather spoiled the occasion for me - although credit where it's due, Frankie's hit on Tom was mighty impressive and UNDOUBTED retribution for the recent Sheffield world qualifier!
Leigh. I actually don't think,it had any bearing on the out come. The damaged was done when mark gilbank slowed Tom down. Don't think it was intensional. That''s when 515 nailed him

if I am cutting it a bit fine for arrival time where else is there "allowed" parking thats nearby?
0s0, if you are coming in past hillborough stadium. I have parked in the openings on the left. The last opening has a pub. Just before the car park

Call me a neigh sayer by all means and I genuinely hope I'm wrong here but I think the turnout for the British will be very poor this year.
Shame because for a few seasons it seemed the stand out event of the year. Still think of Paul Harrison catching SSJ at Lynn as one of the most exciting races I've ever seen.
Yes peter, paul was on for that night. His purple patch kept going to the WF that yr!!!
Re the British at Sheffield. We had a few back to back british's at Sheffield round about 2005,06,07 they where all great meeting. The one where Lundy took about 8 of them into the fence 1st bend springs to mind!!! They might have been F1 only meetings as well. Format along the lines of 7heats then the british. Great stuff!!!!
The British at Buxton a couple of yrs back only had about 30 cars. Sure it was all in for British that yr. cheers

You had to be on start/finish to hear anything. No working speakers anywhere else.
The speaker on turn 4 kicked in once the wax must have cleared in it. for the mini's 1st race Tony!

Ian at the WF. We drove into the car park. Saw how busy it was and swung a right, down to the house's about 1/3 of a mile away. We were sitting in mcdee's 20 mins after meeting. Some people on here took 3 hrs to get out!! Don't suppose it will be that busy this Saturday though. If you do decide to park outside car park, bring a torch. No street lights. We were falling over each other holding 4 phones for light!! If it's finished early, light might not be a problem. What's the alternative to not paying 2 quid to park? I'm not being tight, just wondering if there is another option?
There isn't is there?!
