  1. I received my book today :o

It's very nice, printed on very high quality thick pages which show of the fantastic photos well, and gives the book the feel of something that will last for years without falling apart.

It certainly is the definitive record of the 2009 season, with race reports of all but a couple of meetings, and some great action photos, along with grid line-ups, and points tables for all the major championships.

It will make a brilliant partnership with Long Eaton Revivals season highlights DVD's, almost acting as a commentary for his moving images

For the amount of hours worth of work that must have gone into it, the book is well worth it's asking price.

  2. Whoa...oa.. WOW...

When i suggested last year, that the only way these discs could get any better, would be a switch to Widescreen... i never really expected Richard to follow it up...

When i later found out he had done just that.... i never expected it to make much more difference to the quality of the videos, other than to fill in the 'black' area down the left & right sides of the picture on my tv, (and obviously showing a bit more of the track to the sides)

    but WOW...

It has had an even more dramatic effect i had never even considered....

By re-shaping to viewing area of the picture, and losing the un-needed 'dead' area of picture at the top and bottom of a traditonal 'square' screen... the widescreen format has allowed Richard to ZOOM right-in far closer to the cars, without losing any of the action... you still get to watch battles of between 2-5 cars on every bend, just as in the past videos... but now you can see so much more detail and action.... It makes you feel as though you are stood 10-15 metres closer to the track than in past videos of Rich's... even when the cars go around the far side of the track, you can see the drivers hack-sawing away on the steering wheel.... Fantastic.

My Review Score :- Awesome :o

  3. Yes... indeed mine arrived a few days ago.... ;) AND I'VE ALREADY WATCHED VOLUME ONE :)

VERY VERY VERY VERY GOOD INDEED.... you seem to up your game every year Rich... this years set is better than ever :P

From the glorious box covers (which look far more profesional than ALL other stox videos)... to the race results graphics (a nice touch)... to the final winners trophey presentations... JUST SUPERB... :P

and if at all possible... i think you have even got better still at catching all the on track action, than you already were... with smooth 'in camera' transitions from one battle to another... you seem to do a better job than most 'multi camera' videos... which i just find amazing! :o

I do miss the 'subtitle commentary' from previous editions  I found they helped me follow the story of the race a bit better... But i can obviously understand you dropping them, as the amount of time and effort you clearly put into these discs doesn't need to be hindered by no doubt many more hours of script writing

And maybe next year you could film it all in lovely anamorphic 16:9 widescreen :P

    I'll get me coat :P

But not before summing up... If there's anyone still sitting on the fence about purchasing this 2007 Season Highlights Collection... Then allow me to pull that fence down... This 15 Disc collection is without doubt, not only the best value video purchase of all time, not only one of the best Stox videos this year, but it's THE best video of the year and an ABSOLUTE MUST BUY if you consider yourself to be any sort of F1 Stock Car Fan

  4. :o Aaaaaarrrggghhhhh

You kidding.... It's the June DVD i want more than any in recent years (and i buy most months  )

Cov's June meeting was an awesome spectacle, and if the footage exists, then it's surely a dis-service to Stox's not to get it down on DVD

Hell.... send ME the footage, I'll make the DVD myself :P

    I am upsettings! :D

  5. Yep - Got mine this morning :D

Watched the first four disc's already :P .. and absolutely AWESOME :o

Far from being just highlights, you seem to have condensed EVERYTHING from entire meetings down to 20 minutes (or so) per event - so nothing is missed

As i've said before, i think your video's are far better than so called professional efforts... They really capture the atmosphere, and more importantly the speeeeeed (i'm fed up with video's of cars looking like they are doing about 15mph)... and your 6th sense for following the right cars at the right time is superb

One incey wincey mistake  you seem to keep refering to 531 in the subtitles as James Lund, when it's actually Sam :whistling:

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - EVERY STOX FAN NEEDS THIS WONDERFUL COLLECTION

  6. I just saw another one on ebay - search brisca

    EDIT: -

OK, it's the same advert & seller as the listing above in post #2 - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brisca-F1-Stock-Car-...1QQcmdZViewItem

However he has added the following text "Supplied on DATASAFE dvd in clear pvc sleeve"

This would lead me to believe it is a pirate copy, most likely a DVD transfer of the original VHS recording - so don't get caught up too much in the bidding, as a expect him to keep putting disc's up on a weekly bases (until maybe someone complains)
