It made me realise that there were potentially some of you who would be interested in coming to New Zealand to catch our hard and fast Superstock racing in the flesh. We're in the process of organising a tour to the 2007 NZ Superstock Champs in the South Island, and we're more than happy to take bookings from any Brits who want to come over - we'll even assist you to get to and from NZ if required, and around the rest of the country once the tour has finished. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to join other speedway fans in a tour package that takes the hassle out of travelling to the deep south for the 2007 New Zealand Superstock Champs. For the first time in 13 years the event returns to the bottom of the country, right in the heart of the tourism hotspots that have made New Zealand famous. The tour is being organized and led by award-winning speedway personalities Barry Brown and Tim Savell. Starting direct from the International Airport in Christchurch, we take in the NZ Superstock Champs in Dunedin, the midweek meeting in Cromwell and the next weekend’s 2-night Superstock Hoopla! in Christchurch. In between there’s plenty of time to explore what the South Island has to offer, including the world-renowned scenery at gorgeous Queenstown. You’ll be travelling by 5 star coach and staying in luxurious accommodation, and the tour is cheaper and easier than driving yourself around the Island! We’ve also included entry to all the speedway meetings, plus transfers to and from the track – it couldn’t be easier, or more fun. The trip starts and finishes in Christchurch as it’s the most cost effective way to get to and from the North Island. Best of all, with a speedway tour being organized by speedway people you know that the most important things will be taken care of – speedway comes first! If a meeting is rained out, we’ll be staying for the re-run. We’ve heard rumours that there will be English participation in the event, with Frankie Wainman Junior building his own car in Yorkshire to ship over and compete with in NZ for the 2006/07 season. Last time he raced at the NZ Champs (2005) he came within a few laps of taking the title. At current exchange rates the 11 day tour price equates to around ₤450, with the 8 day at around ₤333. This doesn’t include airfares from the UK to Christchurch and back, and it should also be noted that the tour does not include the 20th Anniversary World Invitation Superstock Champs in Rotorua on the North Island on the 19th and 20th of January. That event will include more foreign competitors.
