  1. I have a car minus Engine - Gearbox - Radiator with spares for £1850. Bargain - honestly...! Let me know if your interested?
  2. Sorry to have to bump this again - but an "interested party" is now no longer interested! I really want to clear some space around my place and although it has been off the road for a wee while, I'm sure it would serve somebody well! Thanks again to all who have made enquiries. Same contact details....etc
  3. After talking to several interested parties, it appears that the distance between us up here and yourselves down there is a stumbling block, and yes I do understand this. However...this is my last post on this matter and as such, I will accept £1000 if someone pitches up and takes it away as it stands......! Let me know ASAP if this is of interest to you...! Thanks again to all that have been in contact with me. Eric - 07593699279

  5. Sorry folks but I pressed the wrong key........ I have been away most of this week and I have had a number of enquiries about our beloved machine, however one enquiry left me a voicemail which unfortunately has a phone number that is 'not recognised'? If that was a genuine enquiry please contact me again to see if we can at least communicate! Thanks for all the enquiries.

  7. Hi, glad you have found a replacement, but do you need it? The ZF box was/is found in the old CF Bedford, I've been told to look for the 'big' input shaft, that's the one. Most rear wheel drive gearboxes are 1:1 in 4th or 'top' so ratio is not an issue. Chevy boxes ues 3 speed, but 3rd is 1:1 !! The great thing about running this or indeed any box of rear wheel drive cars/vans is that no drive is transmitted through gears. The drive is "straight through" by locking input shaft to output (main) shaft. What this means is no teeth transmit torque when the car is racing. Doud Nash type boxes use gear teeth to transmit the torque, and hence the reason for their 'occasional' failures. Using an FG/LD axle it is possible to race on most tracks, but the engine is not always in it's most efficient torque range. If you use a transit rear axle it is almost impossible to work with 1:1 gearbox due to the final drive reduction and a 'nash' box will be required! To be honest it sounds more like a problem with the selector hub and spring/detent mechanism, so don't throw it away yet!! Regards!
