  1. Truly saddened by such awful news. Thoughts too with Chrissie and the family.
  2. Great to see that the finale has sold out, what is not so great is that West Yorkshire is going into tier 3 along with Lancs, Manchester, Notts and other areas which means...will the meeting be missing some drivers? Please, let's not get all sanctimonious about this but things do not seem to be getting any easier. For the record, I could not get a ticket but do live in Wainman country and would have possibly considered travelling. For those that can make it to 'Lynn', drivers and fans, be safe.
  3. That's what I was wondering as well, I'm sure we will find out in the interview Sam must have been a bit careless with the crockery (just joking, Sam's a lovely lady).
  4. I am seriously thinking of driving down to Chesterton for the last time this coming Saturday but it has been a while since my last meeting there. I know that parking around the stadium is maybe not as easy as once was and that the stadium carpark is likely to be full to bursting. So, without wanting to fall foul of the local council, where is it still OK to park? I am hoping that the Loomer Road end past the stadium and down towards the pit entrance is still free of the dreaded yellow lines but any help from those in the know would be gratefully acknowledged. Cheers, Steve
  5. I find it a little strange that Incarace/Spedeworth have not published pricing information for the World Masters event seeing that we are less than two weeks away. Is this a deliberate ploy to entice punters over from Kings Lynn and then sting them at the turnstiles? C'mon Mr Wood, how much are we to pay for this meeting?
  6. I would imagine, in view of the very hot weather recently, that the field might be a bit of a fire risk with a bar-b-q on bone dry grass. Actually, now having just seen the weather forecast for the coming weekend, fire might not be such an issue.

  8. Too early for me also on Saturday. Doubt I will travel down on Sunday either.
  9. After Race Meeting parties at Northampton have not always been the most cordial of events. Two F2 drivers (no, I am not going to name them) ended up with sanctions against them a few years ago after an altercation in the bar.
  10. Billing Aquadrome, 10-15 mins from the stadium. £28.00 for one night camping for a single person and tent. £3.00 more than the sheep poo field but you do get Hot Showers, Proper Toilet Blocks, food outlets etc. It's a big site and there is usually plenty of space.
  11. I have not been since the track went to shale, Brafield was always, for me, a Sunday afternoon track racing on the hard stuff. Apologies for the rose tinted glasses. The sport has moved on and I suppose that we just have to accept that things have changed. Maybe the July Euros will give the track the kick start it needs with, hopefully, a shed load of the Dutch field racers making the journey over. To be honest, they should fancy their chances this year on this racing surface??
  12. I would love to see both formulas racing on WF Night. The 'Loons are just bonkers and really are entertaining, especially around KL. I think the gate would increase with the F1's and Saloons on together. A big Dutch turnout coupled with the Brisca crowd and then add on the huge East Anglian and beyond following. Win win.
  13. The origonal press release was quite specific and the first thing that caught my attention was the doctor's certificate issue. I have noted that Asha has toned things down a little, thank you, but this need not have happened had the origonal press release not got people's back's up the way it did. It's all in the wording? Almost everyone on here agreed that alcohol being taken into the stadium was a no no, ditto excessive amounts of food but'a sandwich and a piece of fruit 'was somewhat prescriptive. I am not going this weekend; work to be done etc but I WILL be going to the WF weekend so what occurs this coming Saturday and Sunday will equally apply to September. to Vic C, no, fans don't have to attend but I am sure that the Skegness promotion woud rather that they did. Take and Give, Give and Take. Steve
  14. "If you have special dietary requirements for health reasons please bring a confirmation letter with you from your GP". Well, that is a first. And, personally, I think it is going too far. Diabetics, Coeliacs and anybody else with a food intolerence, You have been warned! If you don't comply, you will be condemned to have to consume an over priced beef burger with extra cheese. What next? All liquids in a 100ml max container in a clear plastic bag to be shown to security! All large electrical items to be openly displayed prior to being x-rayed! It will interesting to see if security search all the transporters for contraband.
  15. This is a pretty good car count for Hednesford. I can't remember the last time so many booked in. I hope there is not too much damage from the night before. Looking forward to this one.
