  1. its always going to happen in stock cars, each grade just watches the other grades for when the packs get to the relevant points on the track, no one looks at the starter! as a white grade in rebels and F2s id always aim for turn 3, but as you approached the end of the back straight you could hear everyone else going so just went anyway! as a yellow id be away as soon as the pole white hit turn 3 basically. i've had a race at where i've been the back of 5 yellows (with officially 8 car grade gaps) got away clean and been passed by 3 blues before i got to the start line!!! if you watch any video closely and make a note of the grade gaps, then pause it as the lead car goes, i can be sure those gaps have mostly gone!! the issue with a line or marker tyre, is the cars behind are watching the pole sitter and as soon as its 'almost' at the line they get going to get the jump anyway! from a neutral point of view, id say finn did go a tad early on sat watching the back straight video, as he was literally just at the braking/turning point on the back straight turn 3, but this was made to look worse by the slow starting/big gap of the 2nd white top. if a faster red would have been on his back bumper i doubt they would have docked him. cant take anything away from the lad, to drive in those conditions at that age/experience level is worthy of the win jump or no jump!!
  2. Im surprised tracks dont have a set of lights around the tracks these days for the starts/cautions, flashing beacons that can go green yellow or red at the press of a button by the starter/clerk? surely it cant be that technically difficult, and also not very expensive? birmingham do have lights but its that wide/high you dont really see them, if they work that is?
  3. For those who have never been, its a great little place! the below highly technical drawing might help, the yellow is the entrance, the large area at the bottom middle is the pits, the red being the entrances from the pits and the blue area is the spectator parking. and that brown circle'y bit in the middle, thats the best bit!!!
  4. Yeh thats the one. Stes a wizz around belle vue in his F2 so should hopefully go well, after all its only a bit bigger and got 4 extra spark plugs . . . .
  5. Its 495 Richards Howarths 2nd car, bought for the shale ( ex 363) so the 1st duel car can now stay as a tarmac only. Stephens borrowing it to help get it going/ finish it off/set it up while Richards busy, and im off to sticker the wing up later, you'd be surprised how many (non smith) stock cars there are in the rochdale/surrounding are, we could probably hold a meeting on morrisons car park! even conrad lives in our village to scrutineer!
  6. the "main racing" will start at 4 eg F1 heat 1, the ministocks will be on 330pm. never sure why they do this, as im guessing many neutral/new spectators who might turn up at 345 for a 4 start and see the last lap of a race will be a bit lost!
  7. where are you based? there are clubs in hatern, rubgy and manchester to name a few. facebook or ebay is the best play for advertisement mate
