What another fantastic UK Open weekend. Saturday night is usually pretty tame, but someone forgot to tell the drivers that!!! F1, F2, 2L `loons - not a single boring race all night. It was a very long day, but most delays were due to necessary fence repairs. I know the days of starting the F1 GN at 00:30 are long gone, thanks to earlier start times, but some things really just can`t be rushed. You`d moan if there was no action & a 9 o`clock finish!!!!
On the subject of the `loons, what a wonderful tribute paid to the Legend that was Horry Barnes.
Despite the low numbers, the F1s & Ministox entertained all evening, the latter having some extremely lively encounters!! We can`t say the same about the Hot Rods, which leave us cold! Blimey, we`d sooner watch Bangers, & that`s saying something.
The other down side was £6 for a portion of Batter & scraggy chips. I looked for the fish, believe me, but never found any. The other 2 with me were lucky, they had fish in their batter, but it was still poor quality. Get the Mildenhall caterers in, quick!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent meeting, 3 British Championships won. That`s what I call value for money. Whilst I was, as were many others, routing for Mat Newson to take his 1st major title, Lee Fairhurst made his last bend lunge, opening it up for a very lucky winner & runner up. That`s what Stock Car racing is all about, & that`s why we love it.
It was our 1st visit to Hednesford Hills Raceway, which we found very impressive. However, it is NOT very Accessible needs Customer friendly. I only saw ONE accessible loo - in the Bar. Frankly a wheelchair would not have got through the standard sized door unless it was folded (not very helpful at all) Speaking of not very helpful, as it was our 1st visit, I contacted Incarace TWICE last week, once via their website, & once via the Hednesford Hills FaceBook Messenger, asking for information about accessible facilities, including Blue Badge Parking & cost. I have yet to receive a response from either medium. VERY POOR CUSTOMER CARE, Incarace
