Still in shock over my childhood friend taken from us so quickly I am not man off words so here goes.. I first Met Dave Leonard on the back straight at Long Eaton 78-79 as kids we would climb the fence jump into the pits stand and watch our childhood heroes fix there cars and report back to our Dads. Later in life as teenagers we would stand at the bottom off the now M627 on a friday tea time waiting for the first stockcar coach to come out of Rochdale and there was a lot in them days and off we went know idea where we going or when we would be back lol. Sat in pubs talking with Geordie Accent to pull the girls and it worked and Dave did it for 3 months once met the girls Family that was Dave all over , wicked sense of humor.. It will be hard at this years World Final he was always waiting for me to miss one , this year will be my 36th in a row , Dave in 87 went to USA AT WF time we told him 175 had won for 2 days he thought he had won the sweep stake.... Trips to Holland USA only 5 weeks ago Top Man always had time For Josh and sponsored many tyre. I could go on and on a lot a personal memorys so Tonight at Brafield i will stand in our place with Family and friends shed a tear and raise my glass. Dave Leonard you where a legend and will be a legend in the Family off Brisca Stockcars. My Condolence to Debs and Liam.

RIP Buddy Andy Josh Nat's and Lynda Team 5

In Topic: Let's be thankful for what we have

I have just been listening to some music which brought back some fantastic memories of going to Bradford with my Dad on a Friday night. Just listening to this I can see Smithy my hero on that track. I can remember the sights the smells the sound. Looking back now I didn't realise how lucky I was back then. Let's all not waste time on the negatives now but focus on the positives of what we have with this fine sport. Be thankful we still have some decent tracks and promotors that are willing to run events. Yes they don't always get it right but without them and the tracks all I would have is these distant memories and not the entertainment I have enjoyed this year. My Dad still goes with me and my son and to be honest I still enjoy this great sport we have. Let's show it to all in a positive light. Long live brisca f1

We really should have a like button.............

Turning up at a meeting before booking lists were the norm and hoping 391 was there. Seeing his coach in the pits at Coventry and knowing we were lucky and white city were missing out. Seeing the coach crawl round the top of Bradford bowl and knowing he was was gonna clean up. Sitting in the stands at belle vue and seeing him show case out onto the track to sound of loads of air horns. Thank you mr smith for great memories. Even the boo boys ( and there were many!) were secretly disappointed I think when you were at a clashing meeting.

Well said that man !!
