Enjoyed the afternoon with lovely weather. The F1 heats were just a little tame but the final and GN more than made up for it. The Josh Smith roll looked really scary but pleased he was OK. Support formulas: Minis great as always, the V8's OK (Chris Fort cleanup) and the bangers....er they were just bangers but at least they cleaned up quickly after them.

DOD: 84 Tom Harris

Racing rating: 8/10

Very enjoyable afternoon in the sun, can't believe how red my face is . . .am i in for some stick at work 2mora!!
As Lone Groover states. thought heats were a bit tame and disappointed that they didn't run 2/3 format today, but when everyone on track the final and espeically the Grand National were top draw. Mentions go to 191 spectacular roll over, glad to see he got out ok, 498 Spencer Taylor for not giving his place up without a fight. 464 Luke Davidson for his part in GN and also for looking very quick and assured now from red, Andy Smith for doing what he does best, GN win topped his day off but . .

D.O.D has to be 84 Tom Harris - Top notch all day, seemed to get to front in both heat n final in next to no time. Would back this young man to take either the european or british title this year on this kind of form.

R/R 8/10 bangers waste of time for me, but good car fixing time i suppose, V8's and Minis out in good numbers and put on some decent action.

That's not his back bumper . . . thats my front brake
The olympics should be held in Rochdale-Gold & Silver are already there!

Good weather, some very good racing and plenty of bumper work in the final and the gn from the F1's.Not too sure why 498 spencer taylor had to plough one of the novice's into the armco though.Support formula's mini's and v8's good,Bangers are a waste of time.

Enjoyed the afternoon, rare to see the 1's and hotstox together. As has been said the heats were nothing special but the final was top notch and the national superb as bev said good old fashioned stock car racing and in my view we don't get enough of that these days.
Somewhere between 7 & 8 so as the sun shone I will give it 8/10 race ratin'

Good to see some new drivers out, an exellent showing from dick gladden 445 really didn't expect that .
but DoD has to be young Tom Harris 84 who was at least as quick as Andy smith today

R/R: 8/10. Very enjoyable racing at NIR today. The heats and consi whilst not being too memorable did have their moments but the final was entertaining and then the GN was the race of the weekend and one of the best of the season - bumpers and place swapping everywhere! (V8's and minis were also very good in support but yet again we had more bangers that don't crash urghh.gif ).

Ok tarmac racing may still be finding its ''feet'' after the change to Goodyears but get yourselves trackside folks - there's still some great racing going on! Today the action was right through the grid with drivers not afraid to put the bumper in for minor places. 212, 2 and 4 were a few I could mention but there were many others too!

D/D: 84. Tom showed in his heat that a final win may be on the cards and after hitting the front quite early in the final gradually pulled away from #1 to take a very well deserved win. thumbsup.gif Glad to hear that 191 is ok after his roll - he looked almost pleased afterwards as he punched the air so I presume that was the first one of his career! laugh.gif .

R/R: 8/10
D/D: 84

(A few pics from the weekend now in the gallery).

Nothing better than Stock cars on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
16 races in 4 1/2 hours = great value and entertainment. Can't see the point of no contact for 3 laps in the bangers; mind you there wasn't much contact anytime in the bangers. V8's were O.K. Minis were IMO the best formula of the day - 4 excellent races although FWJ must have nightmares about first Pheobie ( is that spelt right? ) then FWJJ blasted into the fence. F1's slow to get going ( any reason for 2 heats and consi instead of 2/3? ) but the final was good and the G/N excellent.
R/R 7

DOTD - a no contest this - heat win - final win - place in G/N = 84
Not one of Tom's biggest fans but he certainly is looking the part now - coloured roof not far away.
Thought 217 drove as good as I've seen him; getting used to starting in the reds maybe.

Little to add to the majority of posts above - a sunny Sunday afternoon at NIR takes some beating. Mini's stole the show today for me, but V8's were great value, and the F1 Final and GN excellent. Bangers not needed, but at least they gave an opportunity for a pit walk - that must sound horrible for any of the banger drivers who may read this - sorry, just not my cup of tea.

Must own up to a bit of trepidation pre-meeting - what are Incarace doing with four formulae on the race card? - but it all worked out OK, with the meeting done and dusted by 6pm. Well done.

RR - 9

DotD - 84

Commiserations to Josh Smith - the latest victim of the infamous NIR pit gate. How many more before it's fixed?

R/R= 8/10
D of D=84

Some good action all day, 84 nailed the final and looked quick all day. Thought the 498 move on 464 on the last bend of the GN was a great move, 464 ramming him on the centre afterwards didn't show him in a good light. 4 formulas was great for me, espiecially the mini's who really got stuck in. The bangers were ok by me and did not lengthen the meeting in any way. Would like to see more NIR sunday afternoons with 4 formula, the drivers certainly liked it with 44 cars!
