Stoxnet: BriSCA F1 Fans' Forum _ Help pages _ Photos Help - 2 - Resizing photos

Posted by: Stoxnet Oct 4 2007, 09:18 AM

If you are a Stoxnet Supporter, you can upload images as attachments to your forum posts of up to around 2 megabytes in size. Members are limited to photo attachments to messages on the forum of 250 KB

All users can upload photos to the Gallery of up to 1.8MB provided that the images are not larger than 3200x3200 pixels. If you have a 1, 2 or 3 megapixel camera, the gallery should be able to accept your photos straight from your camera.
Photos from bigger 4 or more megapixel cameras are sometimes over these limits, so if you'd like to share some of your photos on Stoxnet, you'll probably need to resize them.

If you don't want to do anything other than resizing pictures, most image editing programs are overkill. There is a free Powertool plugin for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 which can help.

Download and install the http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/. The Powertoy is quick to download and install, and is very safe. (Click the Download tab at the top of the page and then select either the 32-bit or 64-bit download option, depending on the version of Windows you have. If you're not sure, try the 32-bit one first - unless you bought a PC with Windows 7 preinstalled (from October 2009 onwards) in which case try the 64-bit one first.)

Once installed, right click on your photo (or select lots of photos and right click on the selection) and select Resize Pictures, then take your pick from the range of sizes.

If you are resizing a photo to attach to a message on the forum, select Medium or Large.

If you are resizing a photo to upload to the gallery, you can select Large or Custom (click Advanced to see the Custom option) and enter the dimensions of 3200x3200.
